A moment of transition
Le Colombié is entering its next major chapter: the transition to the third generation.
We are delighted to share that, together with Silke and Arne, we will take over and continue running the farm in the years ahead.
My husband Patrick, our daughter Chloé and I are taking this step together, with great joy, energy, and deep respect for everything that has grown here.
Back by conviction
After many years away from Le Colombié, spent studying and working, I have become even more aware of how valuable this place truly is. With distance, it often becomes clearer what really matters and for me, Le Colombié is far more than a farm: it is heritage, history, and future all at once.
The decision to return was made consciously. We are aware of the responsibility and the challenges that come with this step, and yet we pursue it with conviction, as a family, with a clear vision and the necessary determination.
Many of you know our history Le Colombié well. For some of you, it has become a familiar place over the years, a place to return to, a place connected with memories, relationships and time well spent. Precisely because of this closeness, it feels important to us to share this next step openly and transparently.
Our plans for the years ahead
This generational transition comes with thoughtful projects – not to change the essence of Le Colombié, but to gently deepen and evolve what already exists.
Gastronomy & Hospitality
Patrick would love to bring his passion for gastronomy to life here on the farm. We are planning to open a small table d’hôtes, offering intimate dinners featuring regional products – including organic Galloway beef from our own farm. In addition, we aim to further develop the wine cellar, providing a carefully curated selection of wines, complemented by small tastings for guests who enjoy exploration and conversation.
Accommodation & Evolution
The existing cottages will continue to be lovingly maintained and thoughtfully developed. In addition, we are exploring smaller living units such as tiny houses – simple, well integrated, and in harmony with the landscape – for guests who prefer a more compact way of staying.
Long-Term Perspective & Heritage
Another important project is the repurchase of one of our cottages. During the Covid period, Arne and Silke had to part with it, and in the long term, we plan to fully reintegrate it into Le Colombié.
Looking ahead
A generational transition of this kind also comes with financial responsibility. Investments and long-term commitments are part of ensuring that Le Colombié can continue to grow in a healthy and sustainable way.
For this reason, we are grateful for any form of support – whether through direct contribution, sharing our project, or connecting us with people who might feel touched by this place. Those who wish to support us directly can do so via our crowdfunding page. Every contribution counts. Even small amounts can make a meaningful difference in the end.
As a sign of our appreciation, we would like to give something back to supporters who make larger contributions: donations of €1,000 or more will be credited once with 50% of the amount as a voucher towards a booking from 2027 onwards, up to €1,000 per booking. Donations can of course also be made anonymously. Voluntary contributions to GoFundMe are optional and do not have to be paid.
If you would like to learn more about our project, please feel free to contact us directly by email (edda@lecolombie.eu).
Above all, we are looking forward to the years ahead – and to continuing this journey together, with all of you who carry Le Colombié in your hearts.
